What's special about the University?
Often described as one of the most beautiful campuses in the UK (Business Insider UK 2016), the University of Stirling's campus is unique. Set within a 330-acre estate with its own loch and castle, the campus is surrounded by beautiful Scottish countryside which makes for a peaceful atmosphere. With 14,000 students, you'll soon feel a part of the community here.
The MacRobert Arts Centre is the cultural hub of campus, with its own public art collection and theatre where you can watch live comedy and dance performances. There's also a cinema that screens indie and Hollywood films.
Looking for a fun place to meet with friends on campus? There are plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and bars to choose from, offering Italian, American, British and traditional Scottish foods. You can also watch live sports, take part in a pub quiz or sing your heart out at karaoke!
With 24/7 access to computers across campus, you can study at whatever time suits you best. Each café has Wi-Fi access, so you can take your laptop and study there too.
You'll have access to thousands of books, e-books, articles and e-journals. The Study Zone provides 24/7 access to study spaces, PCs and printing facilities... everything you need for successful studies! Then there's the Careers and Employability Service, which offers specialist advice from faculty-focused careers and employability consultants.
Regular exercise is a great way to stay happy and healthy during your studies. You'll have access to a 50-metre swimming pool, gym and fully-equipped fitness suite, outdoor pitches, and indoor squash and tennis courts. Want to try your hand at golf? A driving range and a nine-hole golf course surrounds Airthrey Castle for you to use. You'll also find over 50 sports clubs and societies to join at Stirling.
Need to buy a book, arrange a flight or collect a prescription? You can do it all on campus. The shopping precinct has a bank, travel agent, bookshop, supermarket and pharmacy.
