INTO UAB frequently asked questions (FAQ)
If you’ve received an offer letter to be in a Pathway program, it is because you did not meet the competitive academic and/or English requirements to be admitted directly to The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). It was determined that you have a great potential to be successful at UAB but could benefit from the extra support that INTO UAB provides. Upon successful completion of a Pathway program, you gain full admission into one of UAB’s undergraduate or graduate programs to complete your studies.

The courses completed during the Pathway will count towards your degree at UAB, so you will be able to graduate at the same time as fellow undergraduate or graduate peers. No time is lost! You will have access to a wide range of complementary services, including academic advising and tutoring, visa and immigration support, international orientation, pre-arrival support and airport pickup, cultural and professional workshops, and student events and activities.
The Pathway program is set up to allow students an opportunity to complete their degree in the same amount of time as a direct entry student. Some undergraduate and graduate programs do have additional pre-requisite course requirements students will need to take, and this could add additional time to your specific study plan.
